World Radio Day 2018

The World Radio Day was proclaimed on 3rd November 2011 by UNESCO's 36th General Conference. The day was first celebrated in 2012. It was subsequently adopted as an International Day by the United Nations General Assembly On this day every year, UNESCO celebrates World Radio Day by planning activities with broadcasters, organizations, and communities around the world.
The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, hosted an LPG Panchayat Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The LPG Panchayat was organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas with an aim to provide a platform for LPG consumers to interact with each other, promote mutual learning and share experiences.
Target:- conduct 1 lakh such Panchayats across India before March 31, 2019.

Shri Singh also added that there was huge opportunity to export cheap power to neighboring countries which will be beneficial for the entire region.

India will host the 8th edition of Theatre Olympics from 17th of this month. The event which will continue till 8th of April will be inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at Lal Quila in the national capital.

The government has decided to amend in Small Saving Act, proposing the merger of Government Savings Certificates Act, 1959, Public Provident Fund Act, 1968 with the Government Savings Banks Act, 1873.

India clinch first-ever series in South Africa
India clinched the series after defeating South Africa by 73 runs in the 5th One-Day International at Port Elizabeth. Chasing a victory target of 275 runs, South Africa were bundled out at 201.
Earlier, put in to bat, India made 274 for seven in their 50 overs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with a fine 115, which was his 17th ODI century. At present, India lead the six-match series 4-1.
